My point is whether it’s a good idea, as conscientious consumers, to accept such steep discounts on the products that we use and love.
Of course it is! If a company sells a product I like for less, I’ll buy it for less. I’m not sure there’s a moral argument to be made over totally voluntary marketing schemes. The real complaint against MacHeist should be over the quality of some of it’s licenses: in the past I’ve purchased MacHeist and gotten software that was NON-UPGRADABLE (CoverSutra, 1Password). That’s immoral, but then again, I ended up purchasing that software again at full price, so who’s the real sucker?
