Have you heard? Vimeo is at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado!

Our mission is to give you an extreme inside look at what it’s like to attend the Games from the perspective of the fans, filmmakers, and pros.

We were lucky to catch up with pro skier Tom Wallisch and pro snowboarder Nick Visconti, who shed a little light on how they do what they do. Check it out!

Stay tuned for our next look into the Winter X Games as we give you a behind-the-scenes tour of how ESPN films the Games and what fellow filmmakers are using to shoot the events, athletes, and more.

Wow this video kicks ass!

Pinpointing Ice Cube's "Today Was a Good Day"

“ Vimeo has just announced its first major redesign since 2007, and boy does it feel fresh. The longevity of its original design speaks volumes to its quality, but after a certain point, users really need something new to play with. Now, don’t get me wrong, Vimeo’s redesign is certainly not just about aesthetics, and the spacious and painstakingly honed design can not get much more perfect than this.

Today is a big day - one of the biggest in the short-ish history of our small-ish company. For the past year (37 years in Internet time), we’ve been working nonstop on a project that we’ve desperately wanted to tell you about. Because, frankly, it’s all about you. Our willpower muscles are pretty much at the breaking point right now, and so we are doubly ecstatic to finally let the tiger out of the satchel and make this officially official announcement: We built you a new Vimeo.
To learn more about these new big things in more detail, head over to vimeo.com/new. It’s also the place where members can sign up to try the new Vimeo as we roll it out over the next few weeks. Go ahead - you know you want to check it out!

Two years in the making and one hell of a ride!!!

To the man with 94k motion-activated security clips of your front lawn:
You have caused more problems than anyone else and made us better programmers in the process.
Vimeo salutes you.
But seriously what the hell?

Our Top 11 for 2011
Two thousand and eleven was a big — dare we say huge — year for Vimeo. We launched a slew of new features; reached more people than ever; and, most importantly, scoped out a ton of awesome videos. We were right there with you all year long: watching, liking, sharing, and commenting, and not just because it’s our job to do so. Like you, we simply <3 <3 <3 videos. In accordance with our yearly tradition, each staff member put together an album of favorites from 2011, and to that larger pool we applied some utterly unscientific methods to identify the 11 videos that were most loved by the Vimeo Staff. So if you’ve been saving up your attention span to watch only a handful of videos this year, these are our recommendations. Check them out in Couch Mode! And don’t forget that the real honors and accolades will be doled out next June during the 2012 Vimeo Festival + Awards.
From the entire Vimeo Staff: Happy New Year and happy watching!
